Union Montreal party candidates running for office in Lachine Borough were pleased with party chief Gérald Tremblay’s announcement relating to one of his first electoral promises - public transportation.

One of these commitments is the implementation of a tram-train linking Lachine to downtown Montreal to promote, among others, the freeing up of locally congested streets while work is being carried out in the Turcot interchange.

The announcement by the Tremblay-Union Montreal team regarding their first electoral promises also revealed four key themes that reflect what Montreal residents expect from their municipal officials.

The Lakeshore Concert Band will present a fund-raising concert for the Resurrection Food Bank at Summerlea United Church, 225 - 50th Ave, Lachine, on Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m. Special guests are the Hvidovre School of Music Band, visiting from Denmark.

Tickets, available at the door cost $10. For more information: 514 428-0636.
