John Abbott College student Thomas Freeman received the Gary W. Sims Quebec Association of Applied Educational Technology Members Scholarship in presence of Gary Sims himself, Don Boyd, Technician Television/Radio Studios and Ceilidh Gray representing the John Abbott College Foundation.
The Gary W. Sims Scholarship for academic merit or excellence
Gary W. Sims of Lachine on June 11, presented to John Abbott College student Thomas Freeman The Gary W. Sims Quebec Association of Applied Educational Technology Members Scholarship for academic merit or excellence in audiovisual multimedia production.
Present also from John Abbott College were Don Boyd Technician Television/Radio Studios as well as Ceilidh Gray representing the John Abbott College Foundation.
This Scholarship is given to recognize everything Gary W. Sims accomplished as member and director of Q.A.A.E.T., what he did to promote Audiovisual Technology in the classroom over the last 35 years, and all Gary has done as a representative of the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal (Dunton High School) 1969-1971 and John Abbott College 1971-2004.
Gary contributed significantly to the fabric of John Abbott College. His dedication to the Media and Audio-Visual Services has had a lasting positive effect on the College community. The scholarship will be given out yearly.
