2009 will usher in new growth and development for Lachine Hospital

In early 2009, administrators of the Lachine Hospital Foundation will start deploying all efforts to implement a major fund-raising campaign.

According to Sylvie Therriault, the Foundation’s coordinator, the campaign will soon be set in motion with the support of a special committee. This campaign, spread over a period of five years, is intended to collect $3 million. “The success of this undertaking will enable us to fulfill various urgent development projects that will benefit our community, to acquire specialised and over-specialised equipment, and to fund infrastructure and information technology projects.”

This finance campaign is an integral part of the “Les meilleurs soins pour la vie” (the best health care for life) campaign of the Centre universitaire de santé McGill-CUSM (McGill University Health Centre) with whom Lachine Hospital is affiliated.

The recent integration to the CUSM will fuel the development and modernisation efforts of Lachine Hospital, and will enable it to offer much better health care. For example, the establishment recently purchased a brand new state-of-the-art scanner which places the hospital in the forefront of resonant imaging facilities.

“It is within this context that the Lachine Hospital Foundation will soon launch the most important campaign in its history. Since 1976, several thousands of donors have come together and gave almost $4 million to the hospital through the foundation. This was an extraordinary amount, but we need to increase it to be able to continue to excel and to take better charge of the public’s health”, Mrs. Therriault added.

During its annual general assembly held last October, the Board of Directors of the Lachine Hospital Foundation made it a point to reiterate their most sincere thanks especially to the residents of Lachine and Dorval for their constant support over the last few years.

“The financial assistance given by our donors, patients, companies and individuals is crucial; it allows us to continue to achieve the hospital’s goals and to better serve our community. We invite you to renew your confidence in the hospital’s development by making a contribution to our next campaign”, said Sylvie Therriault, Foundation coordinator.
