Graduation Day at Peter Hall School
Côte-Vertu Campus
June 19th 2007 is a date that will forever be engraved in the memory of 11 students from Peter Hall School’s Côte-Vertu Campus. On a nice Tuesday morning, the whole school gathered in the gymnasium to attend their graduation ceremony.
School principal, Maurice Berlinguette, first congratulated the graduates for their hard work and everything they accomplished during their stay at Peter Hall. He then invited the students to come on stage one by one to receive their diplomas.
Patrick Defino, Rose-Marie Howlader, Adrian McColm, Paolo Paura, Mathieu Boulard Chartrand, Jean-François Faucher, Jean-François Sauvé, Vincent Dubreuil, Philippe Dontigny, David François and Sami Wassef were all very happy to receive generous applause from the other students and the school staff.
Individual achievements were also rewarded during the ceremony. The Student Council award was given to Jonathan Lacelles-D’amour, as he was able to overcome many personal obstacles this past year.
The St. Laurent/Mont-Royal Rotary Club gave its last award to Jean-François Sauvé. This organization has been supporting Peter Hall for a number of years but will unfortunately close its doors at the end of this month.
Timmy Gerendai won the medal for Achievement in sports, while Jean-François Faucher received the Director’s award. The Lt-Governor’s awards went to Jean-François Faucher for the French sector and Rose-Marie Howlader for the English sector.
More than a hundred young intellectually handicapped people from age 12 to 21 years attend the Peter Hall School’s Côte-Vertu Campus. They learn in a type of high school environment with adapted services.
