The Arrondissement de Lachine presents the exhibit ''Inspirations from Lachine and the

Lakeshore'' at the Entrepôt until January 4, 2009.
Captivated by the beauty of the waterway, artists Deirdre McCay and Stewart Fletcher present drawings and paintings inspired by Lachine’s landscapes, primarily focusing on the waterside. The exhibition reflects the artists’ attachment to nature, the river, the sky and surrounding landscapes.
Deirdre McCay
Deirdre McCay has been living in Lachine since 2005. An accomplished painter and teacher, she studied drawing and painting in the United States and in England, where she trained in the same techniques used by Renaissance masters.

As she progressed in her career, Deirdre McCay developed an interest in the varied interpretations abstract images could elicit. She is actively involved in the art community, both as a visual arts teacher at the Saidye Bronfman Center, at McGill University and at the Dollard Center for Arts and as a guest speaker for several art associations in Montréal. Deirdre McCay is also well known for her art curriculum development skills.

Stewart Fletcher is actively involved in the art community, promoting his work in Canada and abroad. He continues to produce a staggering amount of work in his Montréal studio.
