Peter Deslauriers, NDP candidate in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Lachine
NDP candidate Peter Deslauriers: his commitments
“As a candidate who has been living in the electoral district for 25 years now, I commit to being visible in the community after the election and will strongly express the concerns of all my fellow-citizens”, said the NDP candidate for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Lachine.
Peter Deslauriers would like to work with key figures of the local economy to promote jobs and reduce poverty, promote environmental laws, preserve our green spaces by putting a stop to air, water and noise pollution, encourage measures to reduce energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases, improve public health care, and ensure that the educational system is fully and properly subsidised.
“I’m also working so that the NDP Charter of Rights of Seniors is adopted to preserve the dignity and safety of our elderly, Mr. Deslauriers added. I will ensure that our government fulfills its obligations so that the food we eat is safe and that the products we use are also safe.”
“As a federal candidate representing an honest federal party, I will be advancing the cause of a progressive type of federalism which unites people instead of divides them. I am all for a flexible approach which will pave the way for our society to flourish culturally, linguistically, economically and politically within a confederation. I will work towards adequate funding for arts and culture and promote peace and social justice for Canada and internationally.”
