LEGION LACHINE NEWS
The Father’s Day Dance and BBQ has been cancelled.
There will be a Strawberry Dessert Card Party on July 7th starting at noon. The cost for tickets is $6 and should be purchased in advance.
The Annual Branch Golf Tournament will be held on Aug. 9 at The LaFleur Golf Club. More details as they become available.
Don’t forget we have pick-up darts every Wed. afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m.

DIXIE POOL NEWS
Make a splash at Dixie Pool this summer! Dixie Pool will be having their opening BBQ on Sat., June 14th at 16:00. Kids, dress-up in your best costume and you might win a prize for best costume! The pool will be open to everyone for the weekend at no charge.
New is 2008: Swimming lessons offered two evenings and Sunday mornings. Mini-Polo: An initiation to water polo for younger kids. Swimming programs are eligible for the tax receipt under the Federal Child Fitness Tax Credit.
And the always popular: Swim team, diving, synchronized swimming, water-polo, aqua fitness and masters. All levels of Red Cross swimming lessons offered every morning Mon. through Thurs.
Dixie offers a variety of fun and activities for the whole family. Our summer membership has remained at the same low price as last summer and we no longer charge a new member fee. We provide an array of aquatic activities for babies, kids, teenagers and adults; and for only $40 per child, you get three sessions of Red Cross swimming lessons.

BISHOP WHELAN HOME AND SCHOOL
Bishop Whelan Home and School congratulates the students and their families for raising $2,190 for the Nothing but Nets program. Funds were raised through our Penny Challenge, Family Night and Pledge forms. 219 mosquito nets will be purchased to help fight the spread of malaria in Africa.

We need help in all areas – assistant cooks, peelers, kitchen aides from 8:30 to 11:5 and Meals on Wheels, Lachine West also need people to go with a driver to take meals into the homes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We work from Summerlea United Church, 225-50th Ave., Lachine. This charitable organization has existed since 1986 and provides help to a growing number of people in need in our community. Since its beginning, thoughs of hot meals have been served to recipients and many food baskets have been distributed. It is open every Tues. and Thurs. from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. to April.
