LEGION LACHINE NEWS
The Breakaways are looking for retirees to spend a Thursday afternoon with them playing cards or darts. It all starts at 1:00 p.m. They also serve coffee, tea and goodies at 3:00 p.m. For info contact the Legion at 514-637-8002..

Comedian Joey Elias will be doing a benefit show on April 25th. Lasagna will be served and the cost is $20. There will be Adult content. Reserve your seats early as they are going fast.

The Sunday Mixed Dart League will be having their banquet on May 10th. The music will be provided by Kamal Mikhall. Everybody welcome after 8:30 with a small donation of $5.

ARTISAN FAIR AND BOOK SALE
The Outreach Committee in conjunction with Girl Guides of Canada – Lachine district invite you to an Artisan Fair and Book Sale on Sat., Apr. 19th at Summerlea United Church, 225-50th Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a variety of beautiful crafts and delicious baking for sale. Come shop for Mother’s Day and also browse through a wide variety of used books. EXERCISE CLASSES AT SUMMERLEA UNITED CHURCH
Circuit training classes are designed for all fitness levels. Classes improve the cardiovascular system, muscular strength and endurance and core strength. Classes end with stretching and a relaxation period. Classes are held on Sat. mornings from 9-10:15 a.m. as well as on Monday afternoons from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Each session runs for 8 weeks and costs $60. The next Saturday morning session begins on April 26th – June 14th. The next session for Monday classes begins on March 31st to May 19th. New participants can join the current Saturday morning class for $30 or come and try a class for $7.50. “THE INVITATION”, A MUSICAL

St. Stephen’s has a few copies left of “CANOE LADY”, a charming little novel by Dot Wilson about Frances Ann Hopkins, wife of a Hudson Bay Official. Frances persuaded her husband to allow her to travel with the Voyageurs during which times she painted her famous and unique paintings. Frances also visited Governor George Simpson’s house on Dorval Island! The novel is selling for $20. Call 514-488-5137 to reserve a copy.

This charitable organization has existed since 1986 and provides help to a growing number of people in need in our community.
