Sonya Kleinsteuber’s oil and acrylic paintings are in exhibit at the Saul-Bellow Library from March 1 to 31, 2008 at the Saul-Bellow library is located at 3100, Saint-Antoine Street in Lachine.
Sonya Kleinsteuber was trained as an academic to be a scientist and a medical researcher. She turned to art when her poor health prevented her from continuing her studies. Art makes her feel alive despites the challenges she has faced all her life. Sonya Kleinsteuber survived two comas in the past years.
Her oil and acrylic paintings of Canadian and European landscapes reflect a passionate love for life and people. She wants to send a message that challenged people can accomplish something in life and creating art is a good way to overcome challenges.
The paintings in the art exhibition are on sale. If they are sold, all proceeds will go to St. Mary’s Hospital Centre, a hospital which has done much for her.
