The Dorval Council Now Paper-Free
At the council meeting of January 28, 2008, the City of Dorval entered a new era. For the first time, council members traded their papers and pencils for a laptop computer.
Mayor Edgar Rouleau indicated that this ecological turnabout proves the eagerness of the council to improve its environmental track record, while allowing a more efficient exchange of information.
This new way of doing things at the council level will allow the City of Dorval to, among other things, save a considerable amount of paper in order to preserve our precious environment.
The software used during council meetings is Adobe Acrobat, which allows council members to download, annotate, comment, and save documents. Furthermore, they will be able to navigate through archives and access all reports prepared for the occasion.
Note that a paper copy of the agenda will still be available for citizens on hand.
