A handful of supporters holding placards and several representatives of the national media waited for the famous “Green Train” that took Mrs. May all over the country for her Pan-Canadian campaign.
The Green Party candidate for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Lachine, Jessica Gal, was among the people waiting for Mrs. May. At the sound of the bagpipes, the convoy finally arrived and reporters headed for the cabin from which Mrs. Elizabeth May came out.
Just having come out of the train, the leader said: “We are present in all the cities of Canada – large and small,” and added that “everyone is interested in green policies.” Regarding the question concerning the leaders’ debate, Mrs. May wanted to thank those who supported her so she could participate in the oral discussions. “I want to raise the issues that other parties will not raise”, she said, admitting that a debate in French would frighten her. As the train had to leave, the leader rushed to go back to the convoy which would take her later that evening to a gathering in Dorchester Square in Montreal.

It was really brief – three short minutes. That was the most that Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party could manage at the Dorval train station on Friday noon. She alighted from the train, made a short statement, answered two questions from reporters and then left.
