Students from Queen of Angels Academy of Dorval, ECS, Sacred Heart School of Montreal, The Study, Trafalgar School for Girls and Villa Maria will walk five kilometers from their school campuses and up Mount Royal, distinguishing themselves by holding eco-friendly canvas bags.

Their objectives: to raise money for women-related cancer treatments and services, and heighten awareness of the toll that cancer is taking on the health and wellness of the women in our society.

The march is preceded by weeks of enthusiastic preparation by the girls, many of whose lives have been personally touched by breast cancer. Pledges are gathered from family and friends. Educational seminars about cancer are organized. And cancer survivors are invited to share their challenges and triumphs in the face of the disease.

According to Hanna Hajilou, of St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, ‘’the culmination of the event will take place at the Belvedère, at approximately 1:00 pm, where all the girls will join together at the completion of their march’’.

Women living with cancer will give testimonial speeches to encourage the girls and to illustrate the importance of their continued efforts. The girls then announce the amount of money raised. 100% of the proceeds will go to the St. Mary’s Hospital Community Cancer Care Centre to benefit one of the largest Cancer Patient populations in the Island.

To date, the initiative has raised over $1,800,000 for patient care and services. You can help these young women by sending your donation to:
