Danielle Ouimet became interested in arts at a very young age and also paints. She accepted the invitation of the organizing team and will be present on Saturday September 6 mid-day for the launching of the 2009 calendar prepared by the artists, for the 50th edition of the exhibition.

The exhibition will surely charm visitors this year as it has all over these years. The artists will dazzle the numerous art lovers with high quality pieces. It will be a great opportunity to meet the artists and contemplate the culmination of long working hours while helping the West Island Association for the intellectually handicapped. All artists will donate a third of their week-end sales to this organization who plays an important role with handicapped people and their families by offering education, leisure, accomodation and support services for the last 50 years.

The event brings something new this year. There will be a thematic contest for the 50th edition. Each artist has created a piece reflecting on the history of the exhibition and Stewart Hall. A tent where all pieces will be presented will be set up so that the thousands of visitors who take part in the event each year will be able to vote for their favorite piece.

The artists of the Lakeshore Association of artists have offered a magnificient 10 X 2 m murale to the West Island Association for the intellectually handicapped. It was painted by approx. 40 artists. This great collective piece is reminiscent of life in the West Island (buildings, sports, leisuire activities, etc.) and people are invited to come admire it in the well-known store "La première compagnie de paniers" located on Lakeshore Road in Pointe-Claire.
