As for the City, it will turn off all non-essential lights in its facilities and join thousands of other cities around the world that will do the same on March 27, in order to increase awareness about the importance of taking energy-saving actions as a way to fight against global warming.
Last year, hundreds of millions of people and thousands of businesses in more than 4,000 cities in 88 countries turned off their lights during one hour. Around the globe, businesses and citizens celebrated this special hour by organizing, among other activities, candle light dinners and walks under the moon.
Dorval turns off its lights during Earth Hour 2010
The City of Dorval is inviting its residents and businesses to turn off their lights for a period of one hour, starting at 8:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 27, as a contribution to Earth Hour 2010.
